Shower caps were optional, but a necessity unless you were on the first run. The helmets are reused right away from prior tours, so you can imagine a gross wet helmet waiting for you on your turn. Sun beaming down, so be prepared with sunblock.
Exceeded expectations for a mountain activity! We did the 2 hour horse back ride tour and it was such a wonderful treat! Breathtaking views of the mountains and ocean were amazing, and seeing several movie sets was pretty cool. There were also WWII bunkers which were neat to see. You don't need to be an experienced horse back rider, the horses are tame and trained. I think I liked the horse back riding better than I would have the ATV riding because you can look around freely and soak in the views. Would highly recommend this, it was worth the money!
First off call the ranch and tell them what you want to experience at the ranch they have lots to do there. My wife and I wanted to do the ATV tour so we booked the 2hr tour at 8am. We got back around 1015am. Then we wanted to see all the movie film locations so we booked the 1pm premium movie tour. This tour was a small group of people and worth the extra money. They provide snacks, water and all the time you want to take pictures you needed and not rushed. The guides on both our tours were AWESOME!!!!! They always were there to take pictures with you significant other. Out of the 7 days we spent on Oahu the day we spend on Kualoa Ranch was a day my wife and I will truly remeber forever because of it beauty and its people. We hope to be back soon.
We waited our entire nine day trip to go to this place, and the night before we left we decided to go. We got reservations first thing in the morning for the movie tour, and it was totally worth it! Our trip was rather rainy so we were worried about our experience. Turned out that our last day on the island was the best day and perfect for this tour. Even if you had a rainy day, It would still be great since all the tours are in buses that are covered. There are a few stops, one at the bunker and one to take pictures at the dead log in Jurassic Park. I highly recommend doing this tour just to see the beauty of Kualoa Ranch. The history here is amazing and they keep this place pristine! You can definitely tell why Hollywood keeps coming back to film more movies. My opinion this place is a must see if you are in the area!
Came here to get the ATV experience. If you've never ridden an ATV, you are definitely missing out. Max MPH during the tour is maybe 14 mph or 18 mph if you catch a good break.
Awesome experience. Byron was the tour guide and was very informative. We went through many sites of movies and went through the path around the mountains. Great views all around.
Great views! There are many options of things to do here. We took a bus tour which was great. The driver explained the different areas as we drove through, and we got out a couple times to look around. Overall our tour took about one and a quarter hours. After we had time to explore a few of the displays in the ranch, which talks to the history and development of the ranch area.
The only portion of this tour where you get dirty is towards the end when you're going through the area with the animals. Definitely had mud sprayed on me when I went into the ditches with the ATV.
