We have used them for our 2 dogs since we arrived on island. They are wonderful with them and words cannot express enough how much the Vets and th staff mean to us and our dogs. Go! Make an appointment, they are the best.

I've been to more than just a few veterinary hospitals, clinics, and veterinarians. I have also been to the two worst vets in the State. Ko'olau Animal Hospital has been the best by leaps and bounds. The staff and doctors there are compassionate with the animals, loving even. They have treated my entire family so well, respectful of our feelings, accommodating with our wishes, and extraordinary with the care of our pets. I have a hug for the docs everytime we leave. And when I had to put my 17-year-old dog to sleep, I chose to go to their office for this event. They loved him as much as we did, and he loved going there, sometimes refusing to leave with us! He wasn't afraid to be there, and when an animal can sense goodness in people, to me, that means SO much.
Having had pets from the time I was a young child, I've been to more than my share of vets over the years and have to say that finding a good vet is just as important (and difficult) as finding a doctor for myself and family. Over these years we've had some good ones and not so good ones but honestly my family and I have never been to a better veterinary hospital as Ko'olau Animal Hospital. The excellent care we've received over the years from the doctors and his staff is easily the best we've ever had. They love all the pets that come in and treat them all with loving kindness and compassion that I haven't see much in other places, They understand how tough patients owners can be and are so understanding and work with us however they can to make the experience as painless and kind as possible. I cannot say enough about Dr. Iwashita and his assistants when our dogs heath took a turn for the worse. When it came to the decision to put him to sleep, it wasn't just us family crying, all the assistants had tears welling up too. Ko'olau is the only place our pets will go in the future, such kind, compassionate people that do everything in their power to help heal our pets and when the final time comes, they make the last bits of their lives good loving ones for pets and those that love them. What more can one ask for?
Super caring and they love all animals! We were stationed her 5 yrs ago and they cared for our dog then. We've since moved back and will continue to go to them!
I am extremely happy with Ko'olau Animal Hospital, so I have no idea what could have gone wrong with the other reviewer's experience, although I have my suspicions.
Dr. Iwashita, Dr. Zane, and all the vet techs have the utmost compassion for my cats. They treat them as if they were their own pets. Thank you for being so kind, gentle, and caring of Abby and Alex. We are very blessed.
