As a Guy i dont go to get my nails done alot, But i have to say the people here made me feel so comfortable and relaxed i ended up getting my feet and hands done and eyebrows waxed (guys just get it done, its not a bad experience) The guy that took care of me (Jay) was sure i understood what he was doing (guess it was obvious i was nervous) and"Walked me though" each step\. I reccomend EVERY try this place out. Im HOOKED!!!!
Had me, then lost me.
Here's the problem....I got a friend hooked on them as well. The first time she had the above guy do them, she came to me complaining that he had hurt the edges of her skin around the nails with the tool. The nails looked ok, but she obviously didn't like the pain. The next time she went, she asked him nicely to PLEASE be careful, because he had hurt her the last time. It all went well until his phone rang; he answered it and talked while working on her nails, and the buffer actually slipped around her finger and cut it on the opposite side of the nail. She yelped, but he didn't say anything and tried to tell her that he did a good job on the nails. She complained, but they didn't offer to comp the job or anything of the sort; she was a bit flustered and just paid and left. We went back the next day to find the other owner and show them what had happened and complain; no one would even apologize. They just said that they would make sure it was better next time. My friend told them there wouldn't be a next time, because this was the second time she'd been hurt and had asked specifically for him to be careful. The owners and employees just stood there and looked at her finger. They didn't even offer her a coupon or a free pedicure or anything to gain confidence back. We were both a big flabbergasted that they made no attempt to keep our business.
I was so happy to find this place, because I'd had bad experiences with cheap "solar nails" elsewhere in Kaneohe. I went there to have them fix a botched job that Les Nails did on a full set of solars. The people were nice, and the girl that did my nails the first time was amazing. The pink and white set was awesome, and it looked great, didn't yellow, and lasted awhile. I came back for fills, and I had an older man do them (I think he is one of the owners); he was very nice, but he didn't put the gel coat on top of the nails and instead buffed them to a shine. I let it go to see how it looked, but I noticed you could see the tool marks in the nails afterwards. They also didn't last as long. The next time I just asked him to put the gel on. However, he did not do nearly as good a job as the girl that was there the first time I went; and I haven't seen her since.
I hadn't been there since it was bought out by the new owners....years ago. Stopped by once and learned they only do gel nails. I decided to give them a try this week even though I feel their prices are a little on the high side. I told Miss Uni? that I usually go to the mall but really feel that their service has declined and that they handle my hands and nails very roughly. Well, she works fast and rough and I had to pull my hand away twice. She asked me how long I wanted my nails and I showed her, she didn't get it, and I ended up with nails that are very short....too short. She zips through the process and never filed the sides of the nails to give them a tapered look. I left very dissatisfied and will never return.
So, unfortunately, I don't go here anymore. The prices are good, and the material they use isn't just cheap acrylic. Just be careful of who you get to do your nails (I would suggest to stay away from the older gentleman), and make sure they do it right. And don't expect any kind of concern or great service if they mess anything up.
I will NEVER go here again!!!!! The girl did a pretty good job on my pedi but half-mooned my eyebrows even though I asked her to just clean them up. When I went to pay I brought out my gift certificates and immediately "Vicky" the supervisor says "we no take that". When I asked her why not she replied "too much problem". I was like, Ummm, I got this as a gift...they are dated on Sept 10, 2012. Well why do you sell them in the first place?! Knowing that my children had saved their money to purchase me a mani/pedi and waxing gift certificate, I felt so sick. Kaneohe is a small town, so believe me when I say I will get the word out that these people are unscrupulous and lack basic business integrity. Dept of Commerce & Consumer Affairs here I come.
